…one thesis paper, one graduation, and half a bout of illness later, we are finally back in business with page 6! Chris and I both have some moving yet to do, but the worst of the drawing-time-draining work should be over for awhile, at least, so with any luck we’ll be back on schedule. Thanks for all your patience!

You might’ve noticed the new button in the sidebar - it seems it’s time for the annual Web Cartoonists’ Choice Awards. So if you have a webcomic, and deem us worthy of any nominations, we’d be much obliged for the attention…

Good morning!

Unfortunately we’re not going to have a new page this week or next, so I just wanted to take a moment to explain what’s up, and give a sort of ‘Comic Update Post’.

As you may’ve noticed from prior posts, it’s the end of the school year here, and as a result schedules are a little tighter than usual. Erin’s got a thesis due, and I’m getting ready for the first of two apartment moves over the next four months. As such, we’re a little behind in things, but happily it’s just a temporary situation. I know its frustrating for the story to be put off for a bit, and trust me we’re even more frustrated to have stuff on hold, especially so early on.

On the whole, we should be moving back to our normal routine (as normal as it can be for us, that is) after these two weeks, and we’re looking at some new ways to improve the comic over the summer. Some stuff we’ve been thinking about are changing the posting days, and increasing the number of pages per week, toying around with extra’s like wallpapers and color work, and other fun stuff. We’d love to have input on things you all would like to see, so that we can work to make the site more enjoyable!

We want to thank you all for your patience, and for the kind thoughts we’ve received since venturing out here to rydia.net . We’ll be posting in the meantime, so feel free to come on by, and we’ll try our best to come up with some additions to the site during the down time.

Page 5 is up… finally… Inking is actually pretty therapeutic when you’ve been staring at essays the rest of the day. About two more weeks of this to go, and then we should be back on schedule.

I wish I had more space for the pictures of the different races on this page - these don’t really show much of the design detail we’ve been working on. Vote incentives for later, maybe?

We’ve also put up another picture on the Extras page - it’s an oekaki I did of the scene on chapter 1 page 18. I wanted to try the magic circle effect in color. And yes, I know it’s not accurate…
