*edit* Yeah, so, um…I don’t read the posts all that closely–cold medicine has drained my attention span down to nil–so I thought I would note that Erin was off yesterday sometime on her grand-ish adventure. However, fear not as I do have stuff to post for you guys on hand, so you will all be entertained for the time being until Erin has some sort of connection to the interwebs. ^^

And, if you see any hiccups in the site, that might be me poking around the code to optimize and update a few things here and there. If anything lasts more than an hour or so, drop me a line at shadesofveil(at)technoangel.net and I’ll try to fix it.

Page 17 is finally up. I’m really sorry for all the delays lately… things have been rather busy here. Which leads to the announcements…

first - yes, at the end of the month I’m moving to Japan for the next year and a half. I’ll be working as an assistant language teacher out in the mountains of Gifu prefecture. Don’t worry, I’m definitely continuing work on the comic, but as I don’t know how soon or how often I’ll have internet access, and as Chris is also starting grad school, we’ll be going on hiatus for the month of September, to give us both time to figure out our new schedules, and what the new comic schedule will need to be. Don’t stop checking back here every week, though, as Megami has been working on an omake story to put up in the meantime. I hear there will be much character embarrassment to go around…

And the other announcement is that on the 24th, Shades of Veil will have been online for one year. Thus the update will be on Thursday (officially. yes, I know…), and there may be some sort of anniversary omake in store… It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long at all - we’re still only getting started… The week after that, there may or may not be a regular page, as I’ll be flying out very early Tuesday morning. I’ll see if I have time, though…

Oh, and if you wondered about the site disappearing for a day or so - that was our domain name host’s date for renewal not matching up with the one our webhost told us. Probably a clerical error on somebody’s part, but I’ll be keeping it in mind for next year…

Finally, I haven’t had time to come up with any new vote incentives, but on TWC is a work-in-progress screenshot of the oekaki I started something like two weeks ago and still haven’t had time to finish. It’s a Guild Wars fanart of a ritualist summoning a spirit. Painted, not anime-style. We’ll see if I can finish it sometime before my broswer crashes on me - the applet’s already starting not to work right…

If anybody’s wondering, the page will be up sometime on Thursday Friday evening (ahh, real life), along with some pretty important announcements that should explain all the page delays lately…
