Updates: one new page…

Chapter 4 page 23 is up. Still working on coloring methods. Next page will be up Wednesday, since I imagine most people will be seeing p23 for the first time on Monday anyway…

Updates: cue scene change

Chapter 4 page 22 is up… sorry for the delay. Still working on that not-overworking-the-watercolor thing, but I’m getting there. I was tempted to mess with the colors in Photoshop to get more of a twilight feeling, but hopefully the watercolors convey a bit of that already… Also fixed an error with the church design on page 4 - the one on this page is the correct one. It’s just a minor and pretty inconsequential detail, but I figured I should say something just in case anyone out there has a perfect photographic memory - nobody else should have to worry about it.
Next page will be up Friday.

Many thanks to Tomoko for her very cute Christmas fanart doodle!

And be sure to check out Megami Jadeheart’s new webcomic, “Annie” - it’s about a Serenity roleplaying character of hers, and looks awesome so far.

Safe and happy holidays to everyone… thank you so much for reading!

Updates: behold my inability to color inside of lines

Chapter 4 page 21 is up. Still working out a watercolor method that works for comic pages as opposed to paintings, but I might just keep doing them this way…

TWC incentive is panel 6 without the text covering up the background. That one was fun to paint.

Updates: In which there are more sparklies

Sorry for the delay. Chapter 4 page 20 is up. Page 19 is still just pencils for now, but it does exist, in case you missed it. I’ll be away for the weekend, so p21 will probably not be up on Monday, but it’ll be up soon after.

I’m getting really frustrated with my Photoshop coloring method, so I’ve been working out the logistics of a switch to traditional media for coloring sometime soon. Hopefully this means that once I’ve gotten used to the new method, pages will be a lot quicker, and also more fun for me (than repeatedly clicking the ‘fill’ tool…). Don’t worry, though.. I’ll have the plain inked pages scanned and saved so that if my traditional-media scheme goes horribly wrong I can go back and re-color everything in Photoshop later.

TWC vote incentive is the last panel of p20 recolored as practice for one potential option for a new style. What do you think?

also: I did finish NaNoWriMo with 50,096 words… though that’s probably only about half of the book. Going to keep working on it, but now working on the comic will take first priority.
